Epilogue

     Walking has become important integrative pastime, transport mode; usually some local destination - three mile upriver Guitar Center, fav.  Springfield just Eugene east, cross Willamette river, with music/pawn shops, good ten plus miler RT.  Picturesque quiet river town, eternally gains Eugenian's bad rap: dangerous/drug ridden.  Neighbor - staunch Occupy Eugener - avers no one percenters inhabit OR.  Perhaps.  Or perhaps live quiet lives, beautiful quiet spots, let on how horrible social ills make this just a terrible place to live.....

     Fall twins arrive; dream conjured, manifest Glenwood pawn shop; supplant coddled long time guitar favs, preoccupy muse.  Change continues.

     World safely past 2012 solstice, Hopi's one heart era ope, deep mystery hopelessly distracts.

     Fear not: Sisyphean Swett Lodge rebuild task continues.  Gut interior, separate lath to burn, plaster for eventual backyard car port (as firewood pile shrinks).

     Walls down, center beam support ceiling, restructure headers over all doors/windows, rewire, insulate, sheetrock.

   Require armoire/closet, some such; rework three interior doors into combo clothes/broom/linen closet space below light/air opening into bath. 

 

Linen closet door leans against bath wall ope;

next tub,

washer/dryer port,

lavatory; await - soon! - hot/cold water supply plumb (yeah, vent fan upper left).

     An observant eye will note window/door changes 'mongst these photos taken over time: kitchen window double thermopanes from Scrap Jim replace;

remove east side middle window, door replace.

    Waste plumbing - including garage plumb stub - redone, able finish herringbone garage side walk to back car port over.

Continued dry fall weather prompts garden/front yard resculpt: lose couple yard corner hump, mud jack front walk, lose one porch step, grade yard for good run off.

     Cold weather imminent, window/door focus: new weather stripping/sill local dealer found, couple oak frames wood pile abandoned, promote front door to keeper status;

Along with side door, Bring find back door;

mid winter morning light kiss.

Back wall window/door in, rework lower back wall siding (rework upper part post porch roof): almost paint ready!

     Bring find west window close fits.

Morning light touches 'em,

evening blazes through.

Low E kitchen west slider

next stove, case over cook.

Thermopane front west bevel glass window storm, completes west side windows.

 East siding rework - gingerly circle saw cut brittle old cedar siding, drill, nail - round new door (hung old door outside as shutter/storm);

front east window; leaves bath window yet undone.

Front east side fixed window matches west windows: Bring find.

Another window broker provides beautiful low E front picture window: 50 bucks!

     Just recently glass table top rim, plywood/metal conjure circular hearth.

     In OR's finest tradition folks, have to tell ya: it's cold/wet here constantly, drug dealers/addicts on every street corner - not really worth coming here unless you absolutely have to; even then, best take your business elsewhere.
